Clean your face every morning and every night. Choose a soap with a neutral PH so that your skin does not get irritated and dry your face with a clean towel. Do not rub your face: pat your skin gently instead. If you get anything on your face, wash it immediately. Washing your face often might make your skin dry; use a moisturizer to fix this problem. Apply a small amount of moisturizer and choose a product adapted to your skin type if possible. Your moisturizer should be the only product that ever goes on your skin.
Nothing should touch your face throughout the day or the night. This means you need to make an effort not to touch your face with your hands, your hair or clothes. Since eliminating all contacts with your face is very hard, you can keep your face clean by washing your hands regularly, keeping your hair clean and washing your clothes often. You should avoid wearing a hat or a scarf and style your hair up or backward so it does not touch your skin constantly. Do not use hair styling products; these will clog your pores.
Do not pick at your acne or wear make up to conceal it. Acne is not pleasant but you are going to make the break out even worse if you touch it. You might even cause an infection, which would look really bad. Using make up can be tempting, but you will clog your pores with these products, which will cause even more acne. It is best to accept your bad complexion and to be patient; it will significantly improve if you avoid touching your acne.
Your pillow case retain oil and bacteria from one night to the other. You need to change your pillow case and bed linen as often as you can, every day if possible. Wash your pillow case with a soft laundry detergent and make sure nobody ever touches it. You also need to keep your towels clean and to avoid covering your face with anything dirty. Start doing your own laundry; keeping things clean is easy once it becomes a habit.
Clean the inside of your pores regularly with an exfoliating product or with sugar. Wash your face with hot water to open the pores and apply your exfoliating product or the sugar on your face. Rub your face gently in small circular motions. Focus on the areas where you get the most blackheads: your nose, chin and forehead for instance. Rinse your face with cold water to tighten the pores again. Do this up to three times a week if you need to.
Follow these tips to adopt an efficient skin care regiment and get rid of your acne. Be patient and make conscious efforts not to touch your face: you should see results within weeks.
