PID (Pelvic inflammatory disease) in Women due to Gonorrhea

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a common term that refers to infection of the fallopian tubes (tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus), uterus (womb) and other reproductive organs of females.

It is a widespread and serious problem of some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), particularly Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. PID can damage the fallopian tubes and tissues in and near the uterus and ovaries.
